Excellent burgers, mozzarella sticks and shakes/ malts! Raspberry shake was exceptional!

We decided to try Clyde's after only going to West Pier for many years. We'll keep going to West Pier. Clyde's is ok, but the parking is too crowded. I had the Jr Cheeseburger and it was average. The fried cauliflower was good, and the chocolate shake was too sweet. Nothing to write home about! The service was very friendly, which is always a huge plus, and the reason for the fourth star!

This is really like stepping back in time. There are no corporate gloss-overs, no over-the-top 50's kitsch, no roller skates or contrived menus here, this is real drive-in food. Who would have thought Sault Saint Marie would harbor such a gem. You can eat inside or have curb side service. The curb side service was remarkably quick, efficient and helpful. The waitress helped place the food rack on my car window, helped dish out the food and anticipated all the needed condiments before I could ask. They offer the Big C burger for around $8 and this puppy is HUGE but I passed on it and had two regular cheeseburgers at $3.50 each (one burger was filling enough). These are how real hamburgers should taste, no fancy frills, just good quality meat and cheese on a soft bun wrapped in wax paper. The french fries are homemade and tasted great. Milkshakes were excellent (I had butterscotch). Even the chili is homemade (it had a ketchupy taste, I wouldn't order it again). There are other offerings like a buffalo burger, fish sandwiches and onion rings which I didn't try. Keep it simple and enjoy this place for what it is (and isn't). Great burgers and fries expound. If you are sick of the whole overpriced corporate burger thing I would suggest eating here in a hot second. I would definitely drive out of my way to eat here again. Highly recommended.

This is an old-school drive-in. Nothing fancy, but the food is excellent. There is a small counter inside you can sit at eat at, Or you can have your food brought to the car, with a food rack on your car window. There are also a few picnic tables, or you can choose to do what we did, and take your meal to nearby Rotary Park. My husband got the Big C burger, which was HUGE! The fries are homemade, and really good. My daughter got a raspberry milkshake, which was delicious. I never would have known this place existed if not for searching on Yelp, and it may be Sault Ste. Marie's best kept secret!

Great burgers at a great price. This makes my top three places to eat in the Sault.

Review colored by family tradition.. Everyone has a hometown favorite hamburger place. The Soo is not my hometown but Ive spent part of every summer near it and a constant has been going to Clydes and turning the car around to face out to the river and watch the ferry. More objectively the junior burger is a decent no frills burger, fries are good, fine shakes and a heavy hand with the malt powder..would that this "fault" was more common,

A ton of food for the price you pay. Best fries I have found in town and the burgers taste awesome. Got chicken nuggets for the kids and even they were good. Love that its next to the park so you can go eat next to the water and the kids can play. Will definitely be visiting frequently.

Must be spring in the UP. Cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate malt on the water listening to Meatloaf Dashboard lights. Awesome as always.

Nice location for a Drive-In Burger location. The quality of their food is good and you can even get a Buffalo Burger. You can pay with your Credit Card too. Friendly service is always guaranteed. I like it!!!

Spent a week in the area and this place was a hit with the whole family. Burgers were great. Fries and onion rings were delicious. We actually made two trips here during our stay because everyone liked it so much. If you're trying to eat healthy, steer clear! If you're willing to indulge, this is the place to do it!

This is a great place to get a good burger along with great buffalo burgers. My husband and I usually order half order of fries because the regular order is large. Easy location, close to newly renovated Rotary Park, children's fishing area and Sugar Island Ferry. At Clyde's, you can eat in your car, outside at several picnic tables or inside at approximately 10 counter seats. Give it a try if in the area...you will not be disappointed.

Pretty good cheeseburgers, even better when you stuffed onion rings in them. The lemonade tasted like crystal light though. Nevertheless, still probably the best meal I've had so far on this trip. It also provided a nice view of the ferry shuttle cars to and from Sugar Island and Canada. PARKING: It's Michigan. There's plenty of parking.

Try the "Big C" Burger, it's a favorite. Classic Style Drive-In, similiar to an old fashion A&W or the Famous Drive-In from American Grafitti. You can dine in or sit in your car, the car-hops will take your order and deliver to your vehicle. You'll find your typical drive-in food here, burgers, fries, shakes, etc...Their signature burger, The Big C is tasty, most other fare is restaurant staple stuff, fried this, fried that. Most everything comes straight from the freezer to the grill top. Reasonably priced, plenty of parking, and a great view of the St. Mary's River.

I have been going here virtually my whole life. This is a local favorite that thankfully is still around. Basic, quality fast-food served in the tradition DriveIn style, and is as good as I remember from my childhood. The prices are fair, the food is good, and does not have the franchise vibe that I can't stand. Located in the Que for the Sugar Island ferry. You can eat and watch the river traffic go by, along with the bird show (sea galls). I hope this place never changes. Whenever I go to the Soo, I go here first!

Gotta love Clyde's! It's a drive-in with drive-in food: Burger's, shakes, fries, onion rings, plus chicken and fish products. If you go be sure and try a Big-C. It is a 3/4 lb burger and you WILL have leftovers! So enjoy! While you eat you can watch the ferry carry cars, watch the seagulls (just don't feed them!) or simply relax and let the carhops bring your food! Just be careful, it can get pricey. A Big-C is, as of this date, about $7.00. But if you split it with some fries and a drink and/or shake, you might be able to get out, under $20.00. Also I can't remember but they might not take debit or credit cards; I've always paid cash. I'll have to check it out next time.

Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had... at least the traditional flat-top griddle style with LTO. Its a damn good, old-school joint. JUST DONT FEED THE SEAGULLS. Sheesh.

Tried Clyde's on my first trip to the U.P. Gotta have a Big C burger, it's a conquest, but its a great burger. Service was great too with a very friendly atmosphere and great outside scenery as well. If you're taken a trip to the Soo, Clyde's is a needed stop.

Love Clyde's. Great food, big food. Must make that trip on vacation, even though prefer "the other" drive in. Still have to have some Clyde's.

Clyde's is the place that time forgot and that's in a good way. Good service, awesome burgers, and incredible shakes are all things that have helped sustain this icon by the Sugar Island ferry. If you're new to the Soo, make it a point to stop at this place and grab a bite.

Wish the diner was bigger, with a group of 10 on a rainy day, there was no room to eat there!
